How to make a partition in a bath?

With the self-construction of a bath at a certain moment, it becomes necessary to divide its internal space into separate rooms. At a minimum, there should be a steam room, a washer and a vestibule.

And here there is a question - how correctly and from what it is possible to make partitions in a bath the hands? In this master class we will show how to make a skeleton partition in a bath between the steam room and the washing room.

How to make a partition in a bath - a step-by-step master-class

1. We collect and fasten the frame. This stage is the most time-consuming. For the frame we need a beam of 50x50 mm. It is assembled directly on site. For stiffening the structure, the connection points of the side racks are reinforced with metal corners. Also, do not forget to leave a couple of centimeters between the ceiling and the top bar to compensate for the shrinkage of the frame. This space is filled with felt.
2. We heat the septum. We act according to this scheme:

In our case, a basalt wool "Technoblock standard" serves as a heat insulation material in the form of plates with a thickness of 50 mm, the width of the plates is 600 mm.

Next, we need to cover the heater with foil from the sides of the steam room, preferably in 2 layers. We work with a construction stapler, we paste the seams with foil tape. The second layer of foil is fastened first with the first to avoid coincidence of the seams.

3. We cover the partition from the side with washing waterproofing material. We fix sheets "Izospan A" overlapping to the frames of the frame. All the seams and holes from the stapler are glued with adhesive tape.
4. We enclose the septum with the lining. Preliminarily for the organization of the gap between the frame and the lining we fill the slats with a width of 15 mm. We fix them on the racks with usual small nails. And then we already have a septum over the rails. To protect the wood from moisture and mold, treat it with an antiseptic in 2 layers.
5. On the side of the steam room we are lining the partition with boards. Preliminary, we also do the ventilation with the help of racks 40x20. We process the boards with an antiseptic.

Here so quickly and inexpensively it is possible to establish independently a septum in the bath.
