Laying tiles on the floor

Today, tile, as well as many years ago, is deservedly popular with floor design in rooms with humidity, possible pollution and high traffic. In the kitchen, bathroom and toilet most often the floor is made from tiles. For such works, some invite specialists. Laying tiles on the floor with your own hands

There are several options for laying tiles on the floor. Some recommend starting to glue the tiles from adjacent walls, moving to the center. Others advise to hold two perpendicular lines in the center of the floor or opposite the entrance to the room and along these lines glue the tile. But most importantly: the last row of tiles should be in the most subtle place. Layout tiles can be of three types: parallel to walls, chess or a combined version. Having decided on the method of laying, you can proceed to decorating the floor with tiles.
  1. For work we will need such tools and materials:
  • Before starting work, you should prepare the floor: remove the old coating, carefully remove all debris and vacuum the surface. Adhesive for tiles should be prepared in accordance with the recommendations on the packaging. We cover part of the floor with glue using a notched trowel. We also apply glue to the tile itself.
  • We lay the tiles on the floor, inserting crosses between them. The smoothness of the laying is checked with a square.
  • Having laid some tiles, it is necessary to compact them, slightly striking with an abrasive rubber mallet.
  • After that, check the leveling horizontality level.
  • After the tiles are laid, you must remove all the crosses, as well as excess glue. In a day the tile will be glued and it will only be necessary to wipe the seams between it with a rubber spatula.
