Diana Kruger told about filming in her native language in the film "At the Limit"

If you still think that Diane Kruger is first and foremost a beautiful woman and associate her exclusively with the role of Elena the Beautiful in "Three", then the new picture of Fatih Akin "At the Limit" will give you an occasion to reconsider the attitude to this German actress.

The world premiere of the drama was held at the Cannes Film Festival, where Diane Kruger received the award as the best actress. And the film itself was marked "Golden Globe" as the best picture in a foreign language.

Diana agreed to talk with reporters and told how difficult it was to recover from the hard work on the role of Katya, and why she could not return six months to the "order".

According to the actress, she literally grew up on the films of Akin, this director of Turkish origin is very popular in Germany. Five years ago, Diana, who dreamed of withdrawing from Akin, had the opportunity to personally tell him about it. She was a member of the jury in Cannes, where they met:

"I waited five years, but, nevertheless, the director remembered our conversation and when the idea to remove" On the Limit "came up, he called me in Paris and told me about the future film. I became interested, but I was not sure that I would be able to cope with the role I offered, usually I'm doing a bit of other roles. I think that Fatih himself was not at first sure that I would manage. We met at my house, in an informal atmosphere, - I intentionally dressed simply and did not apply makeup. The conversation turned out! ".

Heavy meetings with victims of terrorist attacks and personal tragedies

The actress told that in the plot of the picture of her character, Katya, loses a son and husband in the act of terrorism. The life of a woman just crumbles to dust. Recovering from the incident, Katya decides to take drastic measures.

According to her, before working on the picture, Diana Kruger spent six months in Germany, and devoted much time to communication with survivors after similar tragedies - with victims of terrorist attacks and their relatives:

"At that time I experienced the full range of emotions of these unfortunate people. I lost a lot of weight and plunged into sorrow. All this was aggravated by the fact that during the filming two people who were very close to me died. It turns out that after playing on the set, I returned to my own life and there again I was waiting for suffering. My stepfather died, and I sometimes forgot where the line between cinema and reality is. When we finished the picture, I came to myself for another six months, but now I still feel a void inside me.
