Ceiling with illumination around the perimeter

When installing a tension or suspended ceiling in a room, you should think about lighting. Today, more and more popular is the decoration of the ceiling with different kinds of lighting. In this case, you can hide defects on the surface of the ceiling, visually increase the space of the room. With the help of decorative lighting, you can zonate the room, highlighting different colors, for example, a dining area or a place for rest.

Ceiling lighting options

Since backlighting is considered a secondary kind of lighting, low intensity allows using economical energy consumers: LED strips and energy-saving lamps.

Most often today you can find such kinds of lighting:

  1. Inconsistent perimeter lighting can visually lift the ceiling in the room. Mounted such a backlight under suspended or stretched ceilings from gypsum board . Throughout the perimeter of the ceiling, a ceiling cornice is fixed with glue. After that, in the cavity behind the eaves is inserted, and then the LED tape for the ceiling light is glued and the ceiling with the illumination around the perimeter is ready. Sometimes, instead of LED tape, neon lamps are used.
  2. Internal illumination from the under-ceiling space is divided into a ribbon neon and diode illumination. The backlighting of neon lamps creates a calm uniform light and has a variety of different light shades. In addition, these lamps work silently. However, their work requires high voltage, which in itself is already unsafe. The diode illumination provides for the use of an LED strip, which is perfectly suited for mounting on any curved surface of the ceiling. This energy-saving backlight gives a beautiful light of good brightness. LED ceiling tension light can change the shade of light during operation. It has a sufficiently long service life. The ceiling with LED backlighting today is considered the most popular.
  3. Illumination by spotlights or spots . Such turning spots direct the light beams at an angle to the ceiling, creating a surprisingly beautiful play of light rays on the ceiling. Most often, such a backlight is used on the ceiling of gypsum board. For glossy stretch ceilings, experts do not recommend using such a backlight: reflecting from the smooth surface of the ceiling, the lamps will not create a comfortable visual effect. In addition, directed light fluxes from spots can be fire hazardous.
