Despite its scientific sounding name, a representative system is a fairly simple concept. It denotes that way of perceiving the surrounding reality, which is most characteristic of this or that person.
Types of representative systems
There are several basic representative systems of man, which characterize his type of perception of reality. There are three main ones - visual, auditory and kinesthetic, but they are rarely found in pure form, and therefore mixed species based on them are also relevant. The leading representative system can be this:
- a representative visual system - perception, which is mainly based on visual images;
- audial representative system - perception tuned specifically to the auditory channel of information;
- audial-tonal representative system - perception, gravitating attention to sounds and tonal sequences;
- audial-digital representational system - perception directed at symbols, words;
- kinesthetic representative system - the perception directed at the olfactory-tactile channel and the same emotions and feelings.
- a digital representative perception system is a perception aimed at subjective comprehension of signals received through all three main channels.
- olfactory (sense of smell) and gustatory (taste) representative systems - perception, directed and other specific systems, which is extremely rare and mostly for those who are deprived of sight or hearing.
The definition of a representative system is used in NLP - neurolinguistic programming. Knowing which channel a person is tuned to, it is easier to influence him.
Definition of the leading representative system
This indicator is important to know not only about yourself, before and about your loved ones. There is a mass of diagnostic methods for the representative system, from psychological tests that can be performed on the Internet, to simple observations.
For example, in a speech the visual will describe colors, images, build pictures; Audial will address the description of the sound environment, and kinesthetics - to their own sensations. Vizuals do not perceive information by ear, and kinesthetics want to touch everything; Audialam is not important to see, they perfectly perceive sound information.
