Documents for a visa to Spain

As in any other European country that signed the Schengen Agreement, it is necessary to open a Schengen visa for Spain , which is very important to collect documents correctly.

List of compulsory documents for a visa to Spain

  1. International passport. It is better if it will be valid for a long time, but at least 3 months after the trip. If there are several passports, then all of them should be provided.
  2. The internal passport. You should provide the original and a photocopy of all of its pages.
  3. Colored photos - 2 pcs. Their size is 3.5x4.5 cm, only those pictures taken in the last 6 months are suitable.
  4. Medical insurance. The policy must be made at least 30,000 euros.
  5. Reference from work. It should be printed only on the letterhead of the organization, which indicates its full name and contact details. It should reflect information about the position held by a person, the amount of salary and work experience. An unemployed person must acquire a sponsorship letter with a copy of the sponsor's passport.
  6. Information about the financial state. For this purpose, a certificate from the bank on the status of the current account, a receipt for currency transactions (exchange for euros) or a photocopy of a plastic card with a check from the ATM with the balance displayed on it are suitable. The minimum amount to be paid by the applicant is calculated at the rate of 75 euros for every day of the trip
  7. Round-trip tickets or reservations.
  8. Confirmation of the place of residence. For this, you can use a fax confirming the reservation of a hotel room, a contract for the rental of housing or documents on the availability of housing from the person who sent the invitation.
  9. Confirmation of payment of consular fee. It is necessary to present a receipt and a photocopy.

All documents issued in their native language must be translated into English or Spanish.

Usually the visa application form is filled in already in the embassy or in the center, where documents are submitted. You should write in it only in block letters, using English or Spanish.

The consular fee for applying for a visa to Spain, as for any other country of the Schengen area, is 35 euros. The term of consideration at the embassy is 5 - 10 days. When submitting documents through the Visa Center, you should add time for forwarding and processing (up to 7 days). Therefore, it is necessary to begin to issue an entry permit at least 2-3 weeks before the planned date of travel. There is also an urgent registration (for 1-2 days), but the cost of such a service is 2 times higher.
